This is something I've long thought would be a good idea. In general, I'm
very positive.
My only concern is with mail getting lost in {temporary, permanent}
blackholes. If someone is {on vacation, too busy, forgets to check that mail
account, gets hit buy a bus}, the message is effectively lost. Would it be
better to {direct, copy} such mail to a mailing list, like gnhlug-org?
Put more generally: I've noticed that GNHLUG seems to work best when the
opportunity exists for anyone who wants to to step in and pick-up the ball.
Hanging things (like, say, getting us a new server) on one person (like,
say, me) seems to create bottle-necks.
