There are arguments for and against header munging, and through experience, I can say that both approaches have their plus and minuses, and opinion is about evenly divided in the "for" and "against" categories. Some time ago, GNHLUG, as a whole, decided against header munging. For better or worse, that was the decision. More information on munging is available at the following URLs (I realize they focus on a particular kind of munging, but most of the arguments still apply): Reply-To Munging Considered Harmful http://www.unicom.com/pw/reply-to-harmful.html Reply-To Munging Considered Useful http://www.metasystema.org/essays/reply-to-useful.mhtml > I *want* the subject line to be changed so that subscribers have the data > they need to process this message (by hand or by machine) in the manner > that suits them. The whole filtering argument is a red herring. Munging or not, the list already has a way to identify it: Mail sent to the list address is list mail. -- Ben Scott <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> | The opinions expressed in this message are those of the author and do not | | necessarily represent the views or policy of any other person, entity or | | organization.
