At this point, I will not be able to make it - just too many schedules need changing.
My primary concern with the proposed agenda is that we're moving away from Linux and towards Open Source. (And I want to thank Rob for thinking ahead and producing a real meeting agenda!) Although I don't think its right to preclude Open Source (indeed, its an integral part of Linux), it could easily diffuse our Linux focus - especially with all the open source competition to Linux (BSD, FSF, Mozilla, ...). Any loss of focus would play into the hands of proprietary vendors - especially when dealing with the mass market. I believe we should just stick to Linux and mention other open source alternatives when appropriate. This would consolidate mind share with the masses - and eliminate confusion and FUD - a very important task when doing education and outreach. --Bruce Quoting Rob Lembree <[EMAIL PROTECTED]>: > OK, I'm making reservations for tonight at 1900 for myself, Paul, > maddog, Ben, Ed and Bruce.
