Do you mean every quarter? (Or has MelbaLUG become GNHLUG? :-)

That's already been done. See
http://wiki.gnhlug.org/twiki2/bin/view/Organizational/MeetingSpeakers
and http://wiki.gnhlug.org/twiki2/bin/view/Organizational/MeetingIdeas

(and if anyone knows of more, please put them on the Wiki - its there
for you and us)!

Cron works. At least it did the last time I used it ;-) I've even toyed
with the idea of setting something up in the wiki to override the
message, but experience indicates that no one will use it! :-(

But there's an additional task of "coordinating things" - which consists
mostly of "dealing with" communications issues - confirming the speaker,
reminding people, arranging for projector/powercords/..., soliciting
gifts, ... You get the idea. These are the things that can be
frustrating (but shouldn't be).

Plus there's the expectation that someone other than the speaker and
coordinator should actually show some interest in the meetings, but I
digress.

Since I appear to be semi-retired, I'll volunteer. But I really, really
want to give someone else the opportunity. Really! I *will not* be
offended.

Maybe I should put it this way: if no one else steps up to the plate,
you might find me doing the above items. But I won't be able to do it
all the time, so don't count on it getting done. (A side-effect of being
retired.) But if no one steps up, and I end up doing some of the above,
don't call me "chairman". (But I might answer to "coordinator".)
