Maybe Ed will teach us enough Scribus on Monday at CentraLUG

Thanks for adding to the pressure of figuring it out enough to talk about it. <g>

Glad to help <g>.

What size paper should the brochure be? Maybe I can start
setting up a template and we can use it for the demo on Monday.
I think creating a one page flyer using standard letter size make
the most sense. After the heading two columns for copy?

Yes, letter size would be fine. Perhaps later when we have mastered Scribus we can try for tri-fold or something fancy, but let's just shoot for "just the facts, ma'am" to start with.

I installed it on my Mac this week and it runs pretty slick under X11, but all of the sample templates are for A4 paper.

Not to give away too much, but Scribus supposedly will import OO
files and retain formatting, etc. So...Ted if you want to start
creating content, be my guest and then we will see if it really
works on Monday.

I'll try to lift some good material from the TWiki on "Who We Are" "What We Do" and "How to Participate"
