I spoke to a rep at St. Mary's Bank (http://www.stmarysbank.com/) about their "Community Checking" account package.
* Interest bearing at 0.30% APY * It should be okay that we are registered with the state but have not yet applied for Federal non-profit status * They do offer two-signature checks * Basic checks cost about $15 * No minimum balance requirement * 100 free debit transactions per month, then $0.45/transaction * No other fees or special requirements To open the account, all we need to do is have one person bring the paperwork. Simple photocopies of the photo ID of each signatory, along with their signatures on the forms, is sufficient; everyone need not appear in person. I will go to a branch tomorrow morning and pick up all the needed forms. The phone people weren't sure about declining the interest; apparently that's an unusual request. I will see if I can find out more tomorrow. Is this a deal-breaker? Who do we want to be the signatories? Just the President (Ted Roche), Secretary (Bill Sconce), and Treasurer (myself)? Assuming just those three, I am willing to courier the paperwork to each signatory to get this done. I have this weekend open, and also the morning of Tue 23 Oct (I have it off from work for personal reasons, but those reasons leave the morning free). Also the evening of Mon 22 Oct after 6:30 PM or so. -- Ben _______________________________________________ gnhlug-org mailing list gnhlug-org@mail.gnhlug.org http://mail.gnhlug.org/mailman/listinfo/gnhlug-org/
