Dunno much about png, but as to random numbers, I used to grab some bits
from /dev/mic (with no mic plugged into it, with a mic, it isn't anywhere
near random enough) off my sparc/sunos4.1.3 box. You can also take a look
at lavarand.sgi.com (if it's still there).
