I have actually seen this error many times. Usually bounced messages
from this list. This is just a shot in the dark, but do you per chance
have disk quota enabled? It is possable that either the person has
exceeded the quota or that there is a lack of disk space. This very well
may not be a sendmail issue, but rather a problem with the file itself.
Some things to look at might be quota/disk space, corrupt file/mail
table, or file permissions.
