Hi,

With an old isa-slot network card? That's pretty slow. With a special network
card people could reach around 2 meg/sec thru ISA, but they built it themselves,
and they didn't use tcp/ip (it's for a beowulf style matrix computer). Anyway, I
would suggest to use better network cards. Look around what you get though
because some of them will perform even worse than what you have now. A good
starting point would be the beowulf maiing list archive. Some of the "newer" 486
motherboards had PCI slots. Do you have that kind? Otherwise you probably have
to upgrade if you want some increase in speed. Well, not very good news.
