In most cases, if you know how to look at the problem, there is another
way besides rebooting.  However, if you're not so experienced with Linux
or Unix, it's simply easier to reboot.

But the most important point is, even though there are cases where you
need to reboot a Linux box, it's still INFINITELY less often than on a
Windows machine.
