  I've setup IMAP on office networks before, with very good results.  Almost
any mail client worth its salt these days supports IMAP.  You can switch
between email programs, read mail in the office, on the road, and at home, and
other nice things, without any real problems.  It is a bit more resource
intensive on the server then simple POP, tho.
