I have 2 linux boxes. The first alows me to use a short name and a FQDN in
DNS, the second doesn't can anyone tell me what I am missing?
with the first machine I can do this:
[root@lenster /etc]# ping hporau1
PING hporau1 (192.168.0.20): 56 data bytes
with the second machine It returns the FQDN:
[root@lifw01 namedb]# ping hporau1
PING hporau1.fantasyentertainment.com (192.168.0.20) from 192.168.0.50 :
56(84)
bytes of data.
In both machines I have hoprau1 and hporau1.fantasyentertainment.com
defined in DNS.
Thanks
