Any sendmail gurus in the house?
Quick question...
(And by the way I spent hours reading howto's, faq's, and various docs
from sendmail.org already). According to the docs it's a fairly simple
setup but it's just not working for me, yet. OK, I want an smtp server on
the dmz to handle mail for the domain and forward it to an internal host.
Here's what's been done so far...
1. DNS mx record sends mail for mydomain.com to smtp.mydomain.com (in the
dmz).
2. /etc/mailertable was built (makemap hash /etc/mailertable.db <
/etc/mailertable) with the following entry:
mydomain.com smtp:internalhost.mydomain.com
.mydomain.com smtp:internalhost.mydomain.com
According to the various docs I've read - this should do the trick. But I
must be missing something because as soon as I send a mail to
"[EMAIL PROTECTED]" smtp.mydomain.com answers "unknown user" - which, as
far as I know, shouldn't be, right? It should just take the mail it
recieves for mydomain.com and forward to internalhost.mydomain.com.
