I find it at least mildly surprising that you'd have such a card, even in
an old P90, at this late date. That said, if that is in fact what you
have, and you've got a few extra $$ kicking around, I'd say just get a new
one. A Netgear FX310 100Mb ethernet card can be had for about the price
of dinner ($16 or so). These cards work great with Linux.
Every document I've read about 3Com 3c501-3 says throw these cards away.
They basically suck.
