hmm. like the idea of the kernel on the boot floppy in order to test it
out. will have to try that sometime.

but, beyond 'make xconfig' and 'make config',, there's 'make
menuconfig',, which i use most of the time. needs ncurses, and maybe
another lib or so, [not entirely sure, prolly documented somewhere].
anyway, the menuconfig is the one that i'm partial to,, have used it
every time without a hitch. know someone else prolly mentioned it, but.
figure it's worth reiterating.
