Hm.  My system shows /usr/X11R6/bin/X is a link to
/usr/X11R6/bin/Xwrapper, which is a binary file.  I can change which X
I use by changing the /etc/X11/X link (i.e. link to
/usr/X11R6/bin/XF86_SVGA for the standard, but to
/usr/X11R6/bin/XF86_vfb for frame-buffer support).  I can't find any
documentation on it, but I suspect Xwrapper somehow "wraps" the
/etc/X11/X file, which links to . . .
