Ah yes! That's a wonderful phone - works both here (where there's
coverage) and overseas. Its GSM-only though (but supports both the US
and Europe/Asia GSM frequencies). For instance, it doesn't work up in
Concord or Peterboro.
I completely forgot about it because I never could get Linux's IR to
talk to it (but my Palm Pilot talks to it well enough). If you don't
want to use the IR, then you'll have to surrender another $300 for a
PCMCIA modem and serial cable.
You can get the Ericscon I888 at either Omnipoint and/or Sprint PCS
outlets.
