I don't have much personal experience in this area, so take this with
several cups of salt, but...
Digi has long supported Linux. Since the kernel 1.x days, I believe.
Their hardware is fairly open, as such things go, their documentation
comprehensive, and their people helpful. They also sent someone out to give a
very nice talk to GNHLUG on data comm not too long ago. So, in terms of
community support, they win some points.
Whether their stuff is the fastest/cheapest/best/etc. on the market, well,
that I don't know.
