Actually, about an hour ago I fixed it (Atleast I think its fixed).
I was using parted version 1.2.3 actually.
What I think happened was it resized the filesystem (made it fill to the
end of the harddrive) and updated the superblock but it didn't update the
partition table. So after lots of messing around I just "rm <partition
number>" "mkpart logical ext2 <begining of the partition> <end of
drive>" rebooted and it was fixed.
I'm not sure if I got the problem in the first place by something I did
wrong or a bug in 1.2.3.
