Sure. 8)
First and foremost, to my knowledge it is a lot more security minded.
The code is audited fairly regularly.
I realize that most of the features it brings (things like limiting
connections and whatnot per port) can mostly be accomplished through
tcpwrappers, but I prefer xinetd's syntax.
