Well, Debian ships *with* RH's printtool facility, so I suspect they use
similar filters as well, actually, after looking at it, it seems they do use
the RH filters. However, Ben's advice doesn't work.
"textonly.cfg" contains:
TEXTONLYOPTIONS=
CRLFTRANS=1
TEXT_SEND_EOF=YES
"general.cfg" contains:
export DESIRED_TO=ps
export PAPERSIZE=letter
export PRINTER_TYPE=REMOTE
export ASCII_TO_PS=NO (This was set to 'YES',
changing/restarting lpd didn't help)
The print filters themselves are identical. Hmmm, something somewhere isn't
right. Does anyone out there using Debian/printtool have printing working
with ASCII text to LaserJet printers?

I'll check it out, but the 'admin' printer has no configurable settings. It's
just a stupid printer that spits out what it's sent.
