Ironically enough, MS Windows NT 4.0, in a default install, is actually more
secure against the sort of remote attacks that plague Linux systems then your
average Linux system is. This is because NT4 comes with so little, and does
so little, and offers nothing in the way of remote system usage, that there
isn't much for an attacker to grab hold of. You can't drop a root kit in
place and run it if OS limitations prevent you from running anything remotely
in the first place.
It isn't until you actually try to *use* it that NT becomes so bad.
