Just an FYI to anybody else considering purchase of a Thunderbird-based system: for the last couple of weeks I've been looking around the WWW comparing prices, monitoring places like pricewatch.com and talking to knowledgeable coworkers, so I can say with at least some confidence that (if legitimate) the barebones-system deals described in the WWW page at the following location are very attractive: http://asus.mwave.com/mwave/ProdBAREBONE-AMDTBIRD.hmx?UID=&CID=&updepts=BBONE&DNAME=%3Cb%3EBarebone+Systems%3C%2Fb%3E&Back=ProdBAREBONE-AMDTBIRD.hmx? If I hadn't already placed an order elsewhere I'd almost certainly go for one of the systems mentioned there (and I'd come out ahead, too, dang it!) You get to choose from several top-notch motherboards, several speeds of CPU and several RAM configurations. Their "barebones" systems consist of a case, a power supply, a floppy drive, motherboard, CPU, fans and RAM. I haven't seen prices lower than these anywhere. Of course, I need to tack on a string of caveats here, like: I know essentially nothing about that company, my research is not exhaustive or authoritative, things change fast in this business and next week it could all be different, YMMV, etc, etc, etc... ********************************************************** To unsubscribe from this list, send mail to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with the following text in the *body* (*not* the subject line) of the letter: unsubscribe gnhlug **********************************************************
