Yes, you can easily upgrade Storm Linux to a full Debian system with no
problems. Simply go in to /etc/apt/sources.list and edit it to reflect
the Debian source for your files.

For example, if you wanted to upgrade to the full "potato" (2.2)
version of Debian, the following in sources.list should do the trick:

deb http://http.us.debian.org/pub/debian potato main contrib non-free
deb http://security.debian.org potato/updates main contrib non-free
deb http://non-us.debian.org/pub/debian/debian-non-US potato/non-US main
contrib non-free

You could remove the Storm Linux lines in sources.list and eventually
remove the Storm Linux packages and wind up with a Debian-only system.
The Debian-User mailing list (on
<http://www.debian.org/MailingLists/subscribe>) is full of people who have
done this.

My advice would be to grab all updates from the net rather than to
worry about CDs. As long as you've got a decent Internet link it's far
simpler; plus you have the knowledge of knowing you're getting the
absolute latest stuff.

Well, I find I can install a Debian system faster than going into the
Red Hat GUI installer and selecting and deselecting all of the various
packages that I need. But of course that's simply a matter of having done
it a million times.

I agree wholeheartedly -- I've always wondered why Storm Linux doesn't
get more publicity...
