New virus

I am just asking...but I just got an email from a friend of mine saying there is a new virus out that is a warped segment of Nortaon Anti-Virus.  I was just wondering if this is true or another hoax  made to get people all worked up.  They say that IBM sent out the warning, but I have not heard anything and I have not seen anything on their website.  If it is true...it can pose a lot of problems to all computer (even linux).  If not, forget I mentioned it.
