This reminds me of a fax question I've wanted to ask the group.
I have efax setup with the faxlpr trick so any user or program on my
LAN can send a simple fax via:
% lpr -Pfax -J 1-800-555-1212 <file> ...
The hack being to use lpr's -J command to pass the fax machine number.
My question: Is there a way I can setup a printer in Windows 9* so the
user can supply the phone number in a dialog box and then have Samba
running on Linux extract it and pass it on appropriately to lpr or faxlpr?
Would this require a special "print" driver installed on Windows?
Does the SMB printing protocol have a slot or hook to pass this extra info?
Thanks,
Karl
