Hi Bruce,
I've uploaded the script to:

http://www.karlrunge.com/Programs/UsefulScripts/vmview.README
anyone interested please take a look.
For extracting attachment from mail files I used metamail(1) since that
seems to be exist on most machines. For quite some time I've been using
uudeview(1) in my mail processing scripts, but it doesn't appear to
come in any distros. Is there a better, widely available, alternative
to metamail?
It should be pretty simple to make a similar script for Win4Lin.
In fact, it should be easier since it appears you just copy the files
to someplace in the linux file system (e.g. $HOME/win/incoming)
I downloaded the Win4Lin evaluation copy to experiment with it, but
it seemed to require patching my kernels (as opposed to just needing a
loadable module like vmware), so I don't have time to play with it now.
If Win4Lin users out there could inform of the steps to make a tight
"sandbox" with Win4Lin I'd appreciate it. I assume it is straight-forward
to turn off networking and block off the sandbox from accessing the
Linux filesystem (both these seem to be "integrated" by default, which
makes me a bit nervous). And it is easy to restore all of the Win4Lin
Windows files to an "untainted" state from a backup, correct?
Thanks,
Karl
