Certainly. Not that being faster than 4.x is all that hard, but it
generally performs very well. Especially for rendering complex pages.
Occasionally, some aspect of the UI will seem to "pause" before coming up, but
only on the infrequently used features, and only sometimes. I think this is
the result of debugging or unoptimized code (but I don't know for sure). In
any event, I've been using Mozilla for my primary browser since M18, and I
haven't run Netscape 4.x in several weeks.
If you're really after speed, I'd suggest downloading and trying out the
Opera for Linux beta. While still in development (but then, so is Mozilla),
it is blazing fast -- it even gives Lynx a run for its money on my system.
