Check out SFTB (Software Technology for Business) http://www.stfb.com/
They have an accounting package for Linux that includes source code and
distribution rights (not free though; in fact the SQL and Oracle versions
are quite pricey -- $2000 and $5000, respectively. For some reason their
Linux version is not available right now -- hope it's only temporary.
Also, there is Appgen http://www.appgen.com/
They have a package called "Appgen Accounting for Small Business" that comes
in a Linux flavor. It's 800 bucks, and they claim you can migrate it to a
more "traditional world class computing platforms" such as AIX or Solaris.
Then there's Open Systems Accounting Software, or OSAS
http://www.osas.com/products/osas/
They have a modular system that runs on a variety of clients and servers,
including Linux.
And AccountiX http://www.accountixinc.com/
Plus there are a bunch more you can look at if you go here:

By all means let us know if you find any gems in there!
