I've seen a lot of problems with the Xircom cards in general, and their
RealPort model in particular.  But that was over a year ago, and they
may well have cleaned things up by now.

Personally I don't think you can go wrong with a NetGear.  They're 
cheap and reliable, and they ship with Linux drivers.  Additionally, 
their tech support people know Linux :)

I think 3Com is over priced, and they no longer have the quality to 
warrant that price.  I'm skeptical of Xircom from past experience.
