For reasons I *totally* don't understand, I'm having some trouble mounting
one particular box:
- Most machines mount it fine.
- Two machines, in particular (one a Mandrake 7.2, the other a RH 6.2)
fail, with permission denied.
- As a sanity check, and for the hell of it, I changed the IP on the
Mandrake box, and it was able to mount (once I gave it a DNS entry;
otherwise, it was getting RPC timeouts).
- All hosts are added via domain to the NFS server's /etc/exports file.
- A strace of mountd on the NFS server shows something to the effect of
filehandles having access denied.
- It fails for both explicit mounts, and autofs mounts, both of which work
fine on other Linux boxen.
- None of the hosts are entered in /etc/hosts.deny, or anything else that
should explicitly disallow them access.
I am stumped, big-time. If anyone has any suggestions, I'm all ears.
(Oh: /var/log/messages shows helpful messages like, "Permission denied.")
