Because I have several systems at home connected to the net via cable
modem, it would be quite difficult to tail all of the log files all of
the time. To accomplish the same thing, I have Logcheck running on all
of the systems. I use a cron job to run it every 15 minutes, and the
results are e-mail'd to me. It's not as good as having a separate
syslog server, but I don't have a spare machine for that right now.
