Red Hat plays silly-buggers with the script names, and
I run a custom setup, so I don't know what the name
actually is.  However, look for the /etc/rc.d/rc3.d script
that's being used to start Apache, and try executing it
with the parameter 'configtest' -- something like

/etc/rc.d/init.d/httpd configtest
