  It used to be that way, for sure, but things have changed as mailers have
gotten more intelligent.  In particular, there are SMTP extensions to handle
8-bit data without encoding -- the same area Kenny is having trouble with.
Whether or not that is actually the cause of the problem, I have no idea. :)
