What type of errors are you seeing in the logs, both on the client
and the server?

Have you tried the obvious:
/etc/init.d/autofs restart
or
/etc/init.d/autofs stop
/etc/init.d/autofs start

Well, I avoided 7.0 like the plague due to both my natural aversion
to anything .0 and the fact that RH utterly and completely blundered
the 7.0 release. 7.1 is supposed to be a lot better, and 7.2 is
probably better still. Of course you probably know all this, and it
doesn't help your problem one bit :)

I'm not quite sure what the correlation is between your time being
free and the weather being cold, but okay, it'll be great to have
someone else there :)
