haha I tried that last year and am trying again at my Jr. High School.
The biggest problem is the state of the current US economy. No companies
(generalization) are willing to donate old computers/books/[insert
random thing here]. Last year I had people from Sun and Red Hat ready to
send in some books and software but my proposal was never
approved....this year it is approved, the school has new computers as
well. But no one is ready to send stuff in.

I completely agree with your idea and have had it for a while as you
hear people speak about how their childern get a good technological
education (in grammer school you learn to type for 6 years; in Jr. High
you learn to format word documents and in 9th grade a little BASIC so
you can use excel; I dont know about Nashua High but I think they have
something geered towards people wishing to be CISCO netadmins and a C++
course) while really they are just relearning stuff that is so
self-explanatory its just an easy A for most people. I would think that
with the technological community New Hampshire has it would be a little
better than that so I decided to try and get a *nix based network to at
least show what's happenning beneath a GUI.

Anyway if anyone knows a company that needs to donate some old computers
send me an e-mail.
