Have you tried a kernel that works? I have seen similar weird problems trying to install 2.4-based distros at home, which promptly disappeared when I switched back to 2.2. > Well, I figured, based on the spate of new firmware posted by Plextor, > that it might be a firmware issue. As I am sure you are painfully aware, it is common enough that two different parties will interpret a specification slightly differently, and this will lead to a conflict. One or both will have to work around it. So it could be an Adaptec problem solved by Plextor firmware. :-) -- Ben Scott <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> | The opinions expressed in this message are those of the author and do not | | necessarily represent the views or policy of any other person, entity or | | organization.
