Okay; I've never (succesfully) created an LVM partition before, but I *believe* I'm doing everything right... and it Just Keeps Bombing. I've done it now on two different kernels, two different controllers, and no go. Here's what I've tried for this go-around:
- pvcreate /dev/sda - vgcreate -s 16M vg1 /dev/sda [It's (now) a 300 GB 3Ware 6800 array] - lvcreate -L 265G -n lv1 vg1 [I've varied the size from 10 MB to 265G] Every time I execute the lvcreate, I get, plain and simple, "Segmentation fault". A "-v" thrown in reveals that the last thing it's trying to do before bombing is lvcreate -- creating logical volume VGDA in kernel So, anyone have any idea where I'm stubbing my toe? I'm sure I don't.
