Problem is, my ISP sysadmin runs open relays and apparently believes > the same as Gilmore. YOUR ISP HAS AN OPEN RELAY?!?! And they won't close it?!?!?!?!?!?! I'm amazed that they haven't been RBL'd, yet. Who are these bozos, so I can avoid ever using them? Hell, let's take the analogy a step further: "The problem isn't front doors left open when people go on vacation, it's the people that go inside and *take* stuff." I mean, duh. An open relay is simply inexcusable in this day and age. 10, 15 years ago, when spam was essentially unknown (I remember my first "spam" -- a racist screed to all WELL members, sometime in '92 or so), maybe. Nowadays, with millions upon millions of users? It's not only unacceptable, it's encroaching on criminally negligent. Okay, so I feel strongly about this. Spam, in and of itself, is bad enough -- people dumb enough to actually, -knowingly-, help it are irresponsible at best, and... well, I won't use the language that would be required to describe them on the other end of the spectrum. Time to dump 'em, and let us know who they are. $.02, -Ken ***************************************************************** To unsubscribe from this list, send mail to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with the text 'unsubscribe gnhlug' in the message body. *****************************************************************
