One the subject of SPAM I installed razor the other day (razor.sourceforge.net), it's basically a distributed SPAM identification system. Using procmail you feed each message through razor-check. It creates some unique ID on the message (MD5 sum or some such) and compares it against the DB. If the message is there is returns true and you can have procmail do as you wish with it.....change the subject, add an X-header, move it to another folder. Very cool indeed....does require a few Perl modules but nothing fancy.
