Not at all.  I doubt you'll ever find a Red Sox fan who regards that 
team as better than the team which actually makes it to and wins the 
World Series :)

Not necessarilly.  I was a big fan of Linux back when the kernel was 
1.12.x, but at the time I wouldn't have considered it better than any 
other Unix at the time, especially in a comparison of either 
stability or performance (leaving Ultrix out of the picture ;)

It was a great system back then, and I was huge fan, but at the time, 
I don't think it was *better* (better being completely subjective and 
therefore, by definition, unquantifiable).

But that's just my NSHO :)
