Hi all,
Speaking of OpenOffice 1.0, I downloaded it (with wget which was unbelievably
fast considering the apparent traffic load) and noticed the LinuxIntel part
of the tar.gz filename. Does that really mean it is architecture-specific?
If this involves something like 'recompiling' to run properly under SuSE 7.3
for PowerPC (G3 Macintosh) then I have a good project for learning about what
that means and what it accomplishes.

As a Linux/Unix beginner I still find it hard to understand some of the
HOWTOs at Linuxdoc, but I don't want to abuse the help on this list.
Could someone offer a couple weblinks to explore? I'll see how far I can get
on my own steam and come back with a more developed question.

Thanks!
