Hello,
I installed Red Hat Linux 7.2 on a pc clone with an Intel Pentium 3
processor and it is connected to a NIS domain. I configured this machine as
a NIS client during the install and upon reboot it seemed like it bound no
problem. The NIS server is a Sun Ultra 5 running Solaris 5.7. The problem
I'm having is with auto mounting, specifically the home directories. When I
log in as root and try to cd to /home/home1 for example it works sometimes
but other times I get no such file or directory. It seems completely
random. We have 8 home directories in total and I see this behavior with
all of them. Sometimes they are there and sometimes not. Does anyone have
any experience with this sort of thing. Thanks in advance.
Bob Casey
