Thanks for following this up.

Terminator currently doesn't have proper profile support.   Instead it
'cheats' and uses gnome-terminals profiles, hence it needs to index
them.

The terminator people keep talking about having their own profile
support, so at some point I suspect this will need fixing, but for now
it is the right thing to do.
