I will write to desktop-devel-list ML then. I have encountered this issue many many times, and reported bugs for it, to be honest, it is really annoying, also some not self explanatory strings are hard to get, so we have to dig into code and I suppose you should not require translators to do so (just extra barrier for newcomers).
