I find once again that I "tend" to be slightly ahead of the curve...I was using the beta 190.42 nvidia drivers & someone at the forums (ubuntu) suggested that I revert to the "stock" 185 driver series---I have done so & the "lag" has reduced--it is still there, but at least I can use the shell for testing.....
I find my xsession-errors flooded with this: Window manager warning: Failed to read saved session file /home/gnome-shell/.config/mutter/sessions/ 10d1dd528b4f1ef30f125885782047653400000034480007.ms: Failed to open file '/home/gnome-shell/.config/mutter/sessions/ 10d1dd528b4f1ef30f125885782047653400000034480007.ms': No such file or directory Window manager warning: Screen 0 on display ":0.0" already has a window manager; try using the --replace option to replace the current window manager. I am running Gnome-Shell as a session with no other window-managers running---I start the session with a simlink to gnome-shell.desktop. Cheers!!!
