Keep in mind that the GNOME2 panel actually uses a legacy programming interface to embed the applets into it, called Bonobo.
This API has been phased out in a lot of GNOME programs, and they're really trying to stop people from using it, since there are other better ways to create a plugin-interface. So most of the existing panel applets would have to be rewritten anyway, since the old panel's Bonobo is going away no matter what, even if GNOME Shell was never made. _______________________________________________ gnome-shell-list mailing list [email protected] http://mail.gnome.org/mailman/listinfo/gnome-shell-list
