Probably worth keeping in mind application developers as well. At the moment, individual applications are NOT designed for a global menu. (I believe there are some subtle differences involved). I think the biggest strength of MacOS's global menu bar - and the only thing which makes it desirable in my case - is the application-specific menu. It has options specific to the application (as opposed to a particular window of it), like Preferences and Quit. If you guys manage to implement this well - and that includes ergonomically - in Gnome Shell, I will be very happy and I think some of the desire for a global menubar will go away :) _______________________________________________ gnome-shell-list mailing list gnome-shell-list@gnome.org http://mail.gnome.org/mailman/listinfo/gnome-shell-list
