Ok, i would love to write one. I usually suggest Alt+F2 even to a new user of linux. I think its a faster and cleaner way to start what ever u want. At the end of the day its a matter of choice.
By the way how do I start writing an extension/plugin to gnome-shell. I want a textual list of windows open as a plugin to the panel(a pure verbose version of alt-tab) alongside power, volume,.. etc. Any suggestions on how to start?
