Hi. As I understand workspaces are to be used to group windows related to single or similar task/s. (At least this is how I use them. :-)
I have an issue that the application window grouping interfere with this. Let's say I have two tasks in progress - first on Workspace 1 and second task on Workspace 2. Both tasks use one terminal window to do some misc stuff. One terminal window resides on Workspace 1 and second window resides on Workspace 2. Currently the Alt-Tab window switcher merges both terminal windows in one icon, assigned to the workspace space of the workspace I used the terminal emulator last. Then if I want to switch from say a Browser window to the terminal window on the same workspace, but I last used the terminal window on the other workspace, selecting the terminal icon with Alt-Tab changes to the Workspace 2, and then I can be back to the terminal I want with Alt-` Wouldn't it be more useful to group windows of only one Workspace? I separated them on different Workspaces for a reason. -- Tomasz Sterna Instant Messaging Consultant : Open Source Developer http://tomasz.sterna.tv/ http://www.xiaoka.com/portfolio _______________________________________________ gnome-shell-list mailing list [email protected] http://mail.gnome.org/mailman/listinfo/gnome-shell-list
